Minneapolis, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's golf team stayed perfect for the 2022-23 campaign in claiming the team title at the Golden Bear Invitational held the last two days at The Victory Links golf course in Minneapolis.
The Mavericks have played in three tournaments this fall and won all three tournaments.
The 36-hole Golden Bear Invitational, which was hosted Concordia-St. Paul, included five teams.
The Mavericks, who combined to shoot rounds of 299 and 299 for a two-round total of 598, placed 14 strokes ahead of second-place Wayne State (612).
It's believed to be the first time a Minnesota State women's golf team has ever shot rounds below 300 (a Minnesota State team shot 300 in the first round of a tournament hosted by Southwest Minnesota State Sept. 21, 2013).
Anna Cihak (75-70--145) and
Lauren Rebrovich (77-68--146) tied for second as the top Minnesota State individuals
Other Mavericks included
Samantha Youngquist (72-75--147), who placed fourth,
Sam Soulier (76-75--151) who tied for sixth,
