#10 Mavericks Victorious in Minnesota State Open & Multi

MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's outdoor track & field team claimed victory in the Minnesota State Open & Multi Saturday evening. The Mavericks finished first with a total team score of 190 points.

In the discus, Katie Taylor finished third with a throw of 149' 1'' (45.45m).

Brea Perron finished second in the hammer throw with a NCAA provisional mark of 183' 4'' (55.88m) which is currently eighth in the country. Kaylee Jensen finished third with a distance of 169' 4'' (51.62m) and is 14th in the nation. Taylor finished fourth with a distance of 169' 4'' (51.62m).

Makayla Jackson finished first in the long jump setting a meet record and new school record with a jump of 21' 5.5'' (6.54m) which is currently best in the country. Kary Petricka finished second with a NCAA provisional mark of 20' 2.25'' (6.15m) which is fourth in the country.

Taylor Elliott finished second in the high jump with a height of 5' 7'' (1.70m) which is a NCAA provisional mark and is tied for 11th in the nation. Zoe Stone finished third with a height of 5' 7'' (1.70m) which is a NCAA provisional mark and is tied for 11th in the nation.

In the shot put Perron set a meet record with a throw of 48' 3.25'' (14.71m) and is currently fourth in the country. Taylor finished second with a distance of 46' 0.75'' (14.04m) which is a NCAA provisional mark and 15th in the country.

Stella Neophytou finished second in the triple jump with a leap of 39' 1.75'' (11.93m).

In the javelin throw, Samantha Sunnarborg finished second with a throw of 131' 4'' (40.03m).

Amanda Montplaisir finished third in the 1500m run with a time of 4:36.57.

In the 400m dash, Dyashia Colvin finished third with a time of 58.89.

Kynnedi Malone finished second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.56

In the 400m hurdles, Emma Borowicz took home the top-spot with a time of 1:03.61.

In the 200m dash the Mavericks took first through fourth in the event with Rose Gaye setting a meet record and NCAA provisional mark of 24.34. Mackenzie Woodard finished second with a time of 25.08. Carson Fields third with a time of 25.31 and Aaliyah Guy fourth with a time of 25.44.

The Mavericks return to action as the Mavericks will compete at the Lee Krough Invite in St. Peter, Minn., Pacific Coast Intercollegiate in Long Beach, Calif., and Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., on Thursday April 14.
