BISMARCK, N.D. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team kept things rolling Sunday as it bested the MSU Moorhead Dragons 6-1.
With the win, the Mavericks improve to 13-9 on the season including a 6-3 NSIC record. With the loss, the Dragons drop to 4-11, including a 0-9 conference record.
The Mavericks secured the first point of the dual as they won two of the three doubles matches. Junior
Tristen Bryant-Otake and freshman
Avery Stilwell bested Emma Andersen and Miranda Griechen 6-1 in the No. 1 doubles match, while freshmen
Brynn Psooy and
Elizabeth Felderman defeated Madison Bell and Greta Reichmann 6-1 in the No. 3 doubles match.
Minnesota State then went on to win five of the six singles matches to complete the 6-1 win. Bryant-Otake bested Andersen 7-6, 6-2 in the No. 1 singles match, while Stilwell defeated Mikaela Griechen 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 2 singles match. Freshman
Taylor Julsrud won the No. 5 singles match 7-5, 6-3 against Bell, while Psooy defeated Reichmann 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 6 singles match. Felderman was leading in the first set 5-2 in the No. 3 singles match before Miranda Griechen had to retire due to injury.
Minnesota State continues its NSIC schedule on Friday as it takes on St. Cloud State in Sartell, Minn. The dual is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
