BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Minnesota State senior Mackenzie Ward has been named the NSIC Pitcher of the Week for the sixth time this season.

A pitcher from Clive, Iowa, Ward went 4-0 this past week as she boasted a 0.00 ERA. Ward allowed just one unearned run in 22.1 innings while striking out 28 batters. She held opposing batters to a .120 batting average and threw two shutouts in and allowed just nine hits. She also became the second Maverick to reach 1,000 career strikeouts in program history.

This marks the 14th time in her career that Ward has received NSIC Pitcher of the Week award.

Minnesota State continues NSIC play this week as they head to the University of Sioux Falls to take on the Cougars in a doubleheader with first pitches slated for 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., respectively.
