ST. PAUL, Minn. --- The #6 ranked Minnesota State track and field team traveled to St. Thomas University to take part in the Tom Cat invitational Wednesday evening.
In the 1500m run. sophomore
MaKenna Thurston finished third in the event with a time of 4:49.70.
In the 100m hurdles,
Lyric Brennen finished fifth with a time of 15.47.
The Mavericks had two athletes finish in the top five of the 400m dash with
Dyashia Colvin finishing third with a time of 1:00.42 and
Rachel Jaworski finished fourth with a time of 1:00.64. Both athletes finished third and fourth again in the 200m dash with times of 26.68 and 27.05, respectively.
Freshman
Emma Borowicz finished fourth in the 400m hurdles with a mark of 105.05.
In the high jump, freshman
Ashley Cridlebaugh finished second with a jump height of 5' 3'' (1.6m).
Sophomore
Paige Hickson was victorious in the pole vault setting a NCAA provisional mark of 12' 3.5'' (3.75m) tied for 31st in the country.
Freshman
Molly Kahl finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 16' 11.5'' (5.17m).
In the discus throw, sophomore
Madeline Fretag finished fourth in th event with a toss of 133' 4'' (40.65m).
Sophomore
Samantha Sunnarborg took home the victory in the javelin throw with a heave of 128' 3'' (39.09m).
The Mavericks return to action in multiple meets this week as they will take part in the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif., the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate in Long Beach, Calif., the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., and the Long Beach Invite in Long Beach, Calif.
