RED OAK, Iowa --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 sweep from the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats Wednesday afternoon.
With the loss, MSU falls to 11-7 on the season. With the win, NWMSU improves to 6-2 on the season.
The Bearcats claimed the first point of the dual as they won two of the three doubles matches. The team of junior
Tristen Bryant-Otake and freshman
Avery Stilwell defeated Alexandra Dodashev and Carolina DeOliveira 6-0 in the No. 1 doubles match, but NWMSU was able to win the other two doubles matches to secure the point.
Northwest Missouri State then went on to win the six singles matches in straight sets to secure the 7-0 sweep. Stilwell fell to Julia Aliseda 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 2 singles match, while Angela per Moreno defeated freshman
Brynn Psooy 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 6 singles match.
Minnesota State returns to action on Saturday, March 26, as it takes on Gustavus Adolphus and Southwest Minnesota State at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter, Minn. The dual against the Gusties is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m., with MSU's dual against the Mustangs set to follow at 1:00 p.m.
