MANKATO, Minn. --- Minnesota State women's basketball head coach Emilee Thiesse is pleased to announce that, Hannah Herzig will join the Mavericks for the 2022-23 season.

All signings are contingent upon admission to Minnesota State and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.

Hannah is a 6'0'' combo guard from Lino Lakes, Minn., Hannah is currently having a stellar senior season at Totino-Grace High School. She recently surpassed 1,000 points and averages 21.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 4.9 steals per game. She has been as high as 11th in the state in scoring and made the first cut of Miss Minnesota Basketball. Hannah was named All-Northwest Suburban Conference honorable mention as a junior and was a member of the Centennial High School team that finished 3rd at state in 2019. Hannah is a four-year basketball letter winner and a three-year varsity starter. She is also a member of the National Honor Society. Hannah is the daughter of Chris Herzig and Jessica Maring and is undecided on a major.

Hannah joins Natalie Bremer, Delaynie Luneckas, Lilly Nuytten, Mackenzie Schweim and Ava Stier who signed in November.

Coach Thiesse's comments: "We are thrilled to add Hannah Herzig to our outstanding 2022 recruiting class. This group of players bring unique strengths that complement each other very well. Hannah brings great length and versatility in the guard spot which is a perfect fit with our up-tempo style and pressure defense. She creates steals and deflections on the ball and offensively is a three-dimensional scorer that can stretch the floor, create off the dribble, and finish inside using her size. The future of Maverick basketball is very bright with the addition of these six players."
