Mankato, Minn.--- Minnesota State traveled to New York looking to snap a four-game losing streak taking on Long Island University for the first time in program history.
Kelsey King came into tonight's matchup with two goals and is now heading into tomorrow's showdown with a team-leading six goals on the season. King led the Mavericks to an 8-1 victory over the Sharks with her second career four-goal game and five-point night.

At the 8:30 mark of the third period, the Mavericks displayed their power-play strength as
Jamie Nelson found King for her third assist of the night putting the game over the top for the Mavericks.
Lauren Barbro with a solid night in net as she stopped 16 of 17 on the night improving her record to 4-6 on the season.

Kelsey King moved to fifth all-time in goals and points with 38 goals and 85 points leaping
Tracy McCann (2010-14) and
Kathleen Rogan (2010-15). She also moved into sixth in all-time assists on Tuttle's marker leaping
