MANKATO, Minn. --- Minnesota State senior Jack Roussel and junior Trey Vaval have received D2CCA Super Region Four First Team honors for their efforts last season.

Both Roussel and Vaval will advance to the D2CCA All-American ballot.

An offensive lineman from Durango, Iowa, Jack Roussel played and started in all 13 games for the Mavericks on the offensive line. He helped the Mavericks rush for 2,108 yards and 26 touchdowns this season.

As a unit, the Maverick offensive line allowed just 14 sacks, while Maverick quarterbacks threw for 2,782 yards and 25 touchdowns. Roussel was named to the All-NSIC First Team Offense this season for his efforts.

A return specialist from Blue Springs, Mo., Trey Vaval started all 13 games for the Mavericks as a defensive back and also served as one of Minnesota State's primary return men. Vaval returned 23 punts for 448 yards, for an average of 19.5 yards per return, including one he returned for a touchdown.

Vaval also returned 12 kickoff for a total of 309 yards. On defense, Vaval tallied 38 tackles and defended five passes. He was named to the All-NSIC First Team Special Teams as a return specialist and the All-NSIC Second Team Defense as a defensive back.

Minnesota State finished its 2022 season with a 10-3 record as it advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
