Burnsville, Minn. --- Minnesota State's Katie Taylor has been named the NSIC Women's Field Athlete of the Week in back-to-back weeks after her showing in the SDSU Division II open.

A senior from Hayward, Wis., Taylor won the shot put with a NCAA provisional throw of 48-2.5 (14.69m), which ranks second in the NSIC and seventh best in NCAA DII this season. Taylor also placed first in the weight throw with a distance of 63-7.75 (19.4m). Taylor owns the top mark in the weight throw in DII this season (65-8.75/20.03m - Chuck Petersen Open - 12/4/21).

This is the third time this season that Taylor has garnered this award.

The Mavericks return to action this weekend as they host the Mark Schuck Open and Multi on Jan. 28-29.
