Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's track and field program claimed victory in the Minnesota State Invitational tallying a score of 274.50 points.
In the meet the Mavericks had a first-place finisher in eight of the 16 events scored.
In the 60m hurdles, Denisha Cartwright finished first with a time of 8.68 seconds. In the 400 Meter Dash, the Mavericks claimed the top 4 spots with Emma Borowicz finishing first with a time of 1:01.30.
In the 4x400m relay, Minnesota State claimed the top three spots with times of (4:01.95, 4:04.55, 4:12.99).
In the field events, the Mavericks claimed the top two spots with Taylor Elliott finishing first in the high jump with a top clear of 1.68m (5'6"). The Mavericks also claimed the top four spots with Christine Dennison finishing first in the pole vault with a top clear of 3.50m (11'5.75").
In the long jump, the Mavericks claimed the top-two spots with Makayla Jackson finishing first with a top jump of 5.80m (19'0.50").
In the Shot put, the Mavericks claimed the top-two spots with Katie Taylor finishing first with a top throw of 14.43m (47'4.25"). In the weight throw, the Mavericks claimed the top 7 spots with Katie Taylor finishing first with a throw of 18.65m (61'2.25").
The Mavericks return to action Friday, January 21st at South Dakota State University, in the SDSU DII Invite.
