ST. PETER, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis wrapped up competition in at the Gustavus Adolphus Invite.
Junior
Tristen Bryant-Otake finished first in the Singles A bracket. She defeated Anna Stutz from Gustavus Adolphus 6-0, 6-2, and Southwest Minnesota State's Cora Delich 6-0, 6-1 to advance to the finals. She then bested Simona Potockova 5-7, 6-4, 10-4 to win the bracket.
Freshman
Elizabeth Felderman took second place in the Singles B bracket which included wins over SMSU's Maja Louisa Harck 6-4, 3-6, 10-2 and GAC's Sydney Douglas 6-3, 6-2. In the finals Felderman ran into U-Mary's Iiona Freitag who bested Felderman by the scores of 6-2, 6-2.
Freshman
Taylor Julsrud won the consolation side of the Singles C bracket. After falling to GAC's Alli Laux 6-3, 6-2 Julsrud bounced back with wins over USF's Katelyn Nesheim (7-6, 6-4) and GAC's Emily Norman (2-6, 6-4, 10-8).
In the Singles D bracket
Grace Ackerman finish fourth which included a win over USF's Brianna Holm (7-6, 6-4). In Singles E, freshman
Vanessa Barkosky took third place as she posted wins over U-Mary's Sam Purpura (6-1, 6-2) and Kali Askvig (6-4, 4-6, 10-8).
Freshman
Hannah Mayer won the consolation side of the Singles G bracket as she defeated Ella Schmidt from USF by the scores of 6-3, 6-1.
In the Doubles A bracket the team of Bryant-Otake and freshman
Avery Stilwell posted three doubles victories to win the bracket. They bested Douglas and Norman from GAC by the score of 6-4, Quandt and Janos from USF by the score of 8-4 and GAC's Oda and Potockova 8-5.
In the Doubles B bracket the Maverick duo of freshman
Brynn Psooy and junior
Kjerstin Hall bested USF's Katelyn Nesheim and Brianna Holm 8-7 to finish fourth.
Minnesota State continues its season on Saturday, October 2, as it takes on Carleton in Northfield, Minn. The dual is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
