OWATONNA, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team wrapped up its season Sunday morning with a 7-0 loss to the University of Mary in Owatonna, Minn.
With the loss, MSU finishes its season with a 2-14 overall record, including a 1-10 NSIC record. With the win, U-Mary improves to 8-3 overall and 8-3 in NSIC action.
The Mavericks dropped the first point of the dual after the Marauders won all three of the doubles matches. The duo of junior
Tyanna Washa and freshman
Dee Dokken dropped a 6-1 decision to Tasha Dembo and Yusra Hegy in the No. 1 doubles match, while sophomores
Lauren Goth and
Kjerstin Hall fell to Jamie Stoppler and Kelsey Lajom 6-1 in the No. 2 doubles match.
The Marauders then went on to win all six of the singles matches to claim the 7-0 win. Freshman
Sarah Johansen forced a third set in the No. 6 singles match against Heidi Jacobson but she fell by the scores of 6-7, 6-0, 10-5.
