LAKEVILLE, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team opened its season Saturday with a 6-1 loss to Minnesota Duluth.
With the loss, MSU drops to 0-1 on the season, while UMD improves to 1-0.
Minnesota State's lone point of the dual came courtesy of sophomore
Lauren Goth who bested Emily Rahrik 6-4, 0-6, 1-0 (10-6) in the No. 4 singles match. Junior
Tyanna Washa battled UMD's Sophie Lynch into the third set of the No. 1 singles match but she fell by the scores of 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6). UMD won the remaining four singles matches in straight sets.
The Bulldogs also swept the three doubles matches, all by the score of 6-2.
Minnesota State concludes its weekend this Sunday as it takes on the St. Cloud State Huskies in Lakeville, Minn. The dual is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
