11/19/2021 12:37:00 PM

MANKATO, Minn. --- Minnesota State women's tennis coach Ryan Kucera has announced that McKenna DeMarce will join the tennis team in the fall of 2022.

All signings and transfers are contingent upon admission to Minnesota State and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.

DeMarce joins Katelyn Daravingas, Georgia Deml, JeanMarie Lorentz and Makiah Otto in the 2022-23 recruiting class.

A three-year letterwinner from Las Vegas, Nevada, DeMarce has recorded 87 career wins in three seasons at Desert Oasis High School. As a freshman she claimed all-region honors. She followed up her freshman season setting a school record in wins in a season, en route to claiming All-State First Team honors.

"We are ecstatic to be welcoming McKenna into the Maverick tennis family," Kucera said. "A multi-sport competitor, McKenna is an elite athlete. She pairs this with an all-court game that has allowed her to thrive in both singles and doubles during an illustrious high school career in Nevada. She also exhibits a great attitude and a growing passion for our program. We look forward to McKenna's career and her impact as a student-athlete."

As a senior and team captain she broke the school record for career wins as she went on to claim her second All-State First Team honor. She also received her third team MVP award. McKenna is the daughter of Scott and Karin DeMarce and she intends to major in communication disorders at Minnesota State.

Minnesota State will open the spring portion of its 2021-22 season on February 12 as it takes on Bemidji State in Owatonna, Minn.
