Scheid Signs with Colorado of the American Hockey League

Mankato, Minn. -- Ian Scheid, a defenseman who completed his collegiate hockey career with Minnesota State in 2019-20, has agreed to terms with Colorado of the American Hockey League.

The Eagles, the AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, are located in Loveland, Colo. Scheid joins forward Charlie Gerard, another former Maverick, who signed with Colorado in April.

A four-time letterwinner with the Mavericks, Scheid completed his career with 25 goals and 72 assists for 97 points in 158 games with Minnesota State. A three-time All-WCHA Third Team selection, Scheid racked up more points than any defenseman during Minnesota State's NCAA DI-era and ranks third all-time amongst all Maverick defensemen. His 158 games played stands tied for fifth on the school's all-time list.

Scheid, a native of Coon Rapids, Minn., helped lead Minnesota State to three WCHA regular-season championships, one WCHA postseason tournament championship and a pair of NCAA tournament appearances.
