FARGO, N.D. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis teams fell to MSU Moorhead 7-0 Saturday evening on the road.
With the loss the Mavericks drop to 1-1 on the season, including a 0-1 NSIC record. With the win, the Dragons improve to 2-0 on the season, including a 1-0 NSIC record.
The Dragons began the dual winning all three of the doubles matches by the score of 6-0 to claim the dual's first point. The team of senior
Monika Ryan and junior
Tyanna Washa fell to the team of Julia Geske and Keelin Olivia in the No. 1 doubles match, while freshman
Dee Dokken and sophomore
Lauren Goth were bested by Alexis Konecne and Emma Wood in the No. 2 doubles match.
The Mavericks then fell to the Dragons in all six of the singles matches as MSU Moorhead completed the 7-0 sweep.
Ryan took a 6-1, 6-3 loss in the No. 1 singles match to Geske, while Dokken suffered a 6-3, 6-1 loss to Lorissa Yuen in the No. 2 singles match. Sophomore
Sarah Johansen fell to Stevi Parker 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 6 singles match also.
The Mavericks wrap up their weekend on Sunday as they take on the University of Mary in Fargo, N.D., at 9:00 a.m.
