Kansas City, Mo. --- Minnesota State moves into a tie for No. 2 in the third edition of the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll after previously being No. 3, as announced by officials Tuesday afternoon.
The Mavericks took care of business this past weekend defeating Winona State 3-0 and Upper Iowa 6-0 to move to 5-0-0, 2-0-0 NSIC. The five shutouts to open the 2019 season are the most to open a season in Minnesota State history after passing the 2014 squad at four. The successful weekend allowed the Mavericks to move into a tie at the No. 2 spot with Colorado-Colorado Springs.
Minnesota State is the lone member of the NSIC to be represented in the USC Top 25 Poll in this week's edition.
Minnesota State (5-0-0, 2-0-0 NSIC) will return to The Pitch for a pair of home conference matches. The Mavericks will take on Minnesota Duluth on Friday at 3:00 p.m., and St. Cloud State on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
