ORLANDO, Fla. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team opened its spring break trip in Orlando, Fla., with a 7-0 loss to the Concordia College New York Clippers.
With the loss, MSU drops to 5-7 on the season, while Concordia College improves to 12-3.
The Clippers won all three of the doubles matches to secure the dual's first point. Senior
Valerie Bresnahan and sophomore
Abby Smith put forth the best effort in the No. 3 doubles match as they fell to Katrina Sta Cruz and Tadi Mrewa 6-3.
Concordia College then went on to win all six of the singles matches in straight sets to secure the 7-0 win. Junior
Monika Ryan took a 7-5, 6-0 loss to Kristel Kalm in the No. 2 singles match, while senior
Erin Streeter fell to Angelica Karlsson 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 1 singles match.
The Mavericks continue their spring break trip on Tuesday as they take on Georgia Gwinnett College at 5:30 p.m.
