BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's track and field team has been picked to finish first in the NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Minnesota State received 10 first-place votes and 100 points. The University of Mary ranked second with 88 points and a first-place vote, with Sioux Falls (3rd/82 points), Augustana (4th/74 points) and Minnesota Duluth (5th/61 points) rounding out the top-five.
Senior
Jack Curtis was named MSU's Field Athlete to Watch, while senior
Sydne Davis was named MSU's Track Athlete to Watch. Last season, Curtis finished second in the decathlon at the NSIC Championships, while Davis won the 400m hurdles.
Minnesota State continues its outdoor schedule on Saturday as it takes part in the Mustang Open in Marshall, Minn., and the Viking Olympics in Rock Island, Ill.
