ST. PETER, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team was swept by MSU Moorhead 7-0 Sunday morning at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter, Minn.
With the loss, the Mavericks drop to 3-5 on the season, including a 1-3 NSIC record. With the win, the Dragons improve to 5-1, including a 3-1 conference record.
MSU Moorhead began the dual winning all three of the doubles matches to secure the first point. Sophomore
Tyanna Washa and sophomore
Camila Ojeda put forth the best effort in the No. 2 doubles match as they fell to Lorissa Yuen and Rachel Nguyen 6-3.
The Dragons then swept the six singles matches in straight sets to secure the 7-0 sweep. Senior
Erin Streeter dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision to Julia Geske in the No. 1 singles match, while freshman
Lauren Goth lost to Emma Wood 7-5, 6-1 in the No. 6 singles match.
The Mavericks continue their season on Friday as they host the St. Cloud State Huskies in St. Peter, Minn. The dual is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
