ST. PETER, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team fell to the University of Mary 6-1 Friday evening in St. Peter, Minn.

With the loss, MSU drops to 3-4 on the season, including a 1-2 NSIC record. With the win, U-Mary improves to 2-1, including a 2-1 conference record.

The Marauders won two of the three doubles matches to secure the first point of the dual. MSU senior Erin Streeter and junior Monika Ryan recorded the lone doubles win for the Mavericks as they defeated Tasha Dembo and Yusra Hegy 7-6 in the No. 1 doubles match.

U-Mary then went on to win five of the six singles matches to claim the 6-1 dual victory. Streeter tallied MSU's lone singles victory as she defeated Dembo 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 1 singles match. Freshman Lauren Goth went to a deciding third set against Kali Askvig in the No. 6 singles match, but she fell by the scores of 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.

Minnesota State returns to action this Sunday as it hosts MSU Moorhead at 8:00 a.m.
