CARBONDALE, Ill. --- The Minnesota State men's basketball team fell to the Southern Illinois Salukis by the score of 56-41 in their exhibition contest Tuesday evening.
Senior
Cameron Kirksey finished just one rebound shy of a double-double as he posted 11 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore
Tre Baumgardner finished with 10 points and five rebounds, while sophomore
Kelby Kramer added six points, eight rebounds and four blocks as well.
The Mavericks held an 18-17 lead at halftime, but the Salukis outscored MSU 39-23 in the second half to claim the 56-41 win.
Marcus Domask and Eric McGill led SIU with 17 points each. Domask also hauled in 10 rebounds for the double-double.
Minnesota State opens its regular season schedule on Friday, Nov. 8, as it takes on Washburn at the NSIC/MIAA Crossover in Kansas City, Mo. Tip-off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
