Bismarck, N.D. --- The Minnesota State volleyball team (13-5, 6-4 NSIC) took to the road to face off with the University of Mary Marauders (1-17, 0-9 NSIC), and won the match 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-15).  The win is the fourth straight for the Mavericks

Both teams played evenly in the early going of the first set before Minnesota State was able to get ahead by three points for the first significant separation of the match.  Despite a couple of small runs from the Marauders, the Maverick offense, anchored by Morgan Olson who recorded seven kills in the first set, were able to lock down a 25-21 first set win.

The second set was all Minnesota State, as Jessica Nelson propelled the Mavericks to a 13-6 lead with four kills in the early going.  Minnesota State would go on to win the set 25-18 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Maverick ended all hopes of a long comeback, getting ahead early and building a seven-point lead that ballooned to as much as 11 en-route to a 25-15 set win to sweep the Marauders.

Olson led all players with 15 kills while Nelson added 10 of her own.  Dana Schindler recorded a match-leading 30 assists while adding 12 digs. 

Tomorrow, the Mavericks will face off with Minot State, in Minot, N.D., with first serve scheduled for noon.
