Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women' soccer team is set to open up fall camp beginning Monday, Aug. 13 at the Pitch.
"We're extremely excited to kick off this 2018 season," said head coach
Brian Bahl. "We have a phenomenal group of returning players back and what we believe is a fantastic freshman class. That combination along with how strong we looked in the spring has our sights set high.
"I love this team already from a work rate and competitiveness standpoint. Lots of positive energy and support for each other. I know they'll bring it every day and they do it the right way. I think that says a lot about what this team can be. Not to mention, the maturity of this group, they are remarkable young women in everything they do. I always know we can trust and count on them. It's going to be an amazing year!"
Starting on Monday Aug. 13, the Mavericks will practice 12 times before their home exhibition opener on Tuesday, Aug. 21 against UW-La Crosse at 4:00 p.m.
Minnesota State completed the 2017 season with a 17-2-3 record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II Tournament. MSU also won its fifth Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular-season championship in the last six seasons.
