Thirteen Games in Taylor Center Highlight 2018-19 Maverick Women’s Basketball Schedule

MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's basketball team will compete in 26 regular season games during its 2018-19 season, including 13 at home in Taylor Center.

The Mavericks open their season on Friday, Nov. 9, at Taylor Center as they play host to Waldorf, at 7:00 p.m. MSU will compete in three additional games during the month of November, including a pair of road games against Northern Michigan (Nov. 16) and Michigan Tech (Nov. 18). Both road games are scheduled for 12:00 p.m. (CST) starts. Minnesota State will then finish the month of November in Taylor Center as it hosts Bethany Lutheran College on Monday, Nov. 26, at 6:00 p.m. 

Minnesota State will wrap up the 2018 calendar year with seven games in the month of December, including an exhibition contest at Northern Iowa on Dec. 19. The Mavericks will open the month and NSIC competition, with a 2:00 p.m., home game against Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday, December 2. MSU will then hit the road for a pair of road games against Southwest Minnesota State (Dec. 7) and Sioux Falls, with game times set for 5:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m., respectively. Minnesota State then returns to Taylor Center for two games against Winona State (Dec. 14/5:30 p.m.) and Upper Iowa (Dec. 15/3:30 p.m.), before wrapping up the month of December with a 2:00 p.m., road game at Concordia-St. Paul on Sunday, Dec. 30.

The month of January will feature eight games, including MSU's longest homestand of the season. Two pairs of road contests bookends the month as MSU travels to Minot State (Jan. 4/5:30 p.m.) and the University of Mary (Jan. 5/3:30 p.m.) to begin the month, before wrapping up January at Wayne State (Jan. 25/5:30 p.m.) and Augustana (Jan. 26/3:30 p.m.). Between the two sets of road games, MSU will host four straight games at Taylor Center beginning with Sioux Falls on Jan. 11 (5:30 p.m.) and Southwest Minnesota State on Jan. 12 (3:30 p.m.). The Mavericks will then conclude their homestand with games against Minnesota Duluth (Jan. 18/5:30 p.m.) and St. Cloud State (Jan. 19/3:30 p.m.).

February will see the Mavericks take part in their final eight NSIC games of the season, beginning with a pair of home games against MSU Moorhead on Feb. 1 and Northern State on Feb. 2, with game times set for 5:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m., respectively. MSU will then travel to Minnesota Crookston (Feb. 8/5:30 p.m.) and Bemidji State (Feb. 9/3:30 p.m.), before returning home for its final regular season home games against Augustana on Feb. 15, at 5:30 p.m., and Wayne State on Feb. 16, at 3:30 p.m. Minnesota State will then close out its regular season on the road as it takes on Winona State (Feb. 22/5:30 p.m.) and Upper Iowa (Feb. 23/3:30 p.m.).

The first round of the NSIC Tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 27, with its game time and location to be determined. The final three rounds of the NSIC Tournament are scheduled to take place from March 2-5 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The site of the NCAA Central Region Tournament is to be determined and will be held on March 15, 16 and 18. The NCAA Elite Eight will take place in Columbus, Ohio., on March 26, 27 and 29.
