Superior, Wis. --- Minnesota State baseball extended its season-long winning streak to 10 games with a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader sweep of Minnesota Duluth on Monday at Superior High School.
Minnesota State improved to 20-7 (15-3 NSIC) and Minnesota Duluth fell to 13-13 (9-5 NSIC).
GAME 1 – Minnesota State 3, Minnesota Duluth 1
Quinn Ahern provided a strong performance on the mound and the Mavericks used a three-run third inning to defeat Minnesota Duluth 3-1 in game one.
Ahern (3-1), a right-handed senior, tossed a seven-inning complete game — limiting the Bulldogs to one run on three hits. Ahern struck out four and did not walk a batter in an 88-pitch effort — picking up his second consecutive victory. With the performance, Ahern lowered his season ERA to 2.00.
The Mavericks scored all of their runs in the third inning. Sophomore first baseman

Teddy Petersen each garnered an RBI single to put the Mavericks up 3-0.
The Bulldogs scored one run in the sixth inning to make the score 3-1, but Ahern shut the door for the 3-1 victory.

Noah Bluth, Buck and Petersen combined for seven of the Mavericks' 10 hits. Buck had a game-high three hits, while Bluth and Petersen had two each.
The Mavericks handed the Bulldogs'
Marcus Frederickson (3-1) his first loss of the season. Frederickson surrendered three runs (all earned) on 10 hits in a complete game. He struck out four and did not allow a walk.
Minnesota State held a 10-3 edge in hits.
GAME 2 – Minnesota State 12, Minnesota Duluth 0
Trevor Divinski and
Carlo Graffeo combined for a shutout and the Maverick offense had 11 hits in a 12-0 win over the Bulldogs in a run-rule shortened game.
Divinski (3-0), a right-handed redshirt freshman, won his second consecutive start after shutting out the Bulldogs over six innings. He held the Bulldogs to four baserunners (two hits and two walks) and struck out two in a 79-pitch performance, while lowering his season ERA to 2.25. Graffeo, a junior right-hander, tossed a scoreless seventh inning with three strikeouts to end the game.
The Maverick offense scored two runs in the second inning, two in the third, six in the fourth and two in the seventh.
The Minnesota State offense received a big offensive performance from sophomore second baseman
Teddy Petersen, who drove in five runs on a pair of doubles. Petersen's first double drove in the Mavericks' first two runs of the game in the second inning, and his second two-bagger plated three runs to push the Maverick lead from 7-0 to 10-0 in the fourth inning.

Noah Bluth joined Petersen as the other Mavericks with multiple hits. Buck went 2-of-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Bluth was 2-of-3 with a walk and two runs scored.
Alex Ferguson (1-2) was charged with the loss — allowing six earned runs on five hits over three innings. Ferguson struck out one, walked three, and hit a batter.
Minnesota State returns to the diamond for an NSIC doubleheader at Sioux Falls on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
