MINNETONKA, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team saw its season come to an end Saturday morning as it fell to Winona State 5-0 in the first round of the NSIC Tournament.
With the loss, MSU finishes its season with a 5-13 record, while WSU improves to 14-2.
The Warriors began the dual winning all three of the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. The duo of junior
Erin Streeter and sophomore
Monika Ryan fell to Kaisey Skibba and Justine Daane by the score of 8-5 in the No. 1 doubles match. The team of junior
Valerie Bresnahan and freshman
Tyanna Washa also lost by the score of 8-5 in the No. 3 doubles match as they were bested by Tayla Card and Kali Hackmann.
The Warriors then wrapped up the dual winning the first two singles matches to lock down the 5-0 win. The final four singles matches were not finished. In the No. 4 singles match, freshman
Camila Ojeda dropped a 6-0, 6-2 loss to Kendra Kappes, while senior
Nina Riesselman fell to Kali Hackmann 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 5 singles match.
