Auburndale, Fla. --- No. 7 Minnesota State baseball picked up two wins on Tuesday — defeating Lewis 10-3 and Notre Dame College 4-1 in Auburndale, Fla.
Senior right-handed pitcher
Dalton Roach became the Mavericks' all-time leader in career strikeouts when he tallied his 296th, during the third inning of game one. He finished the game with 303 career strikeouts.
Maverick batters tallied 25 hits between the two games, while the pitchers combined for 31 strikeouts.
With the two wins, Minnesota State improves to 4-3 on the season. Lewis is now 2-6 and Notre Dame College is 2-7.
GAME 1 – No. 7 Minnesota State 10, Lewis 3
Senior right-hander
Dalton Roach (2-0) set the program record for career strikeouts and the Maverick offense erupted in a 10-3 win over Lewis.
Roach limited the Flyers to three earned runs on five hits in seven innings pitched. He walked one and struck out 12, including his 296th career strikeout (in the third inning) — moving him into first place on the Mavericks' career strikeout list. Roach finished the game with 303 career strikeouts. The previous mark of 295 was held by
Jason Hoppe (2011-14).
The Maverick offense garnered 15 hits in the game. Sophomore first baseman
Ty Buck had a three-hit game, while senior center fielder
Josh Wenzel, junior right fielder
Jordan Hart and senior shortstop
Luke Waldek each tallied two hits.
Minnesota State scored in five innings, including four multi-run frames. Four Mavericks drove in two runs each. They are: sophomore second baseman

Freshman right-hander
Trevor Divinski pitched the final two innings for the Mavericks in relief. Divinski held the Flyers to two singles, while striking out two and walking none.
Jay Militello (0-2) started for the Flyers — allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits over five innings. He walked four and struck out one.
GAME 2 – No. 7 Minnesota State 4, Notre Dame College 1
Senior left-handed pitcher
Aaron Rozek (1-0) had a career-high 15 strikeouts as Minnesota State defeated Notre Dame College 4-1 in its second game of the day.
Rozek baffled the opposition for eight innings — limiting the Falcons' offense to one run on five hits, while striking out 15 and walking one in a 117 pitch effort.
The Maverick offense scored all of its runs in the first three innings. Junior right fielder
Jordan Hart hit the Mavericks first home run of the season – a solo shot to left field in the bottom of the first inning. Hart and senior catcher
Ryan Moffett each had a game-high two hits.
Four Mavericks drove in one run each. They are: senior shortstop
Luke Waldek, freshman designated hitter
Cam Kline, freshman first baseman
Carter Elliott and Hart. The RBI are the first of Kline's and Carter's collegiate careers.
Junior right-hander
Bobby Gauvreau pitched the ninth inning to garner his second save of the season.
