The Mavericks owned a 1-0 lead at the end of 20 minutes of action due to a power play marker from junior winger
Charlie Gerard. The goal by Gerard, his fifth of the season, came at the 6:36 mark. Then, at 5:55 of the second period, junior
Parker Tuomie got his stick on a shot from the point by
Connor Mackey and deflected the puck past
Mareks Mitens to make it a 2-0 Minnesota State lead.

Josh French closed out the scoring in the game with an empty net goal late in the third period.
Freshman
Dryden McKay, who made his sixth start of the year, stopped all 23 shots he faced in earning his first career shutout. Tonight's win ups his record for the season to 5-2-0.
Parker Tuomie, who also assisted on
Charlie Gerard's game-winning goal, now has eight goals as 12 assists on the season for a team-high 20 points.
With tonight's victory the Mavericks are 12-2-0 (7-1-0 WCHA) on the season.
Minnesota State returns home to face Alaska Anchorage next Friday and Saturday at Verizon Center.
