WENTZVILLE, Mo. --- Minnesota State completes the road sweep over Lindenwood in 2-0 win Saturday afternoon at Lindenwood Ice Arena.

This is the first road sweep for the Mavericks since Feb. 15-16, 2014 against North Dakota.

After a scoreless first period, the Mavericks scored two in the second frame to take a 2-0 lead. The first goal came at the 4:46 mark when the teams were playing four-on-four because of a double penalty called earlier. Senior defenseman
Megan Hinze took a shot from just above the right face-off circle and senior forward
Jordan McLaughlin tipped in the goal. This was McLaughlin's second goal of the season as she was able to beat Lion netminder
Jolene derBruyn on her stick side. At the 11:30 mark, the Mavericks were able to create a turnover in the neutral zone and converted on a two-on-one opportunity. McLaughlin found freshman forward
Brooke Bryant just outside the crease on the left side as deBruyn was late sliding over. This was Bryant's fourth goal of the season, with three of them coming in the last two weekends.

Minnesota State held on to the 2-0 lead through the third period to complete the sweep against Lindenwood.

Freshman
Abigail Levy (7-5-2) recorded her second consecutive shutout, fourth total, by stopping 17 shots. Her counterpart, deBruyn, made 28 saves on 30 opportunities.

Winger
Jordan McLaughlin ended the game with a goal and an assist for the Mavericks.

Minnesota State (7-5-2, 2-4-1-1 WCHA) returns to the Verizon Center for a rematch with #6 Ohio State. The games will be played on Dec. 1-2 at 6:07 p.m., and 2:07 p.m.
