St. Paul, Minn. --- The Minnesota State volleyball (13-6, 6-5 NSIC) team travelled to St Paul, Minn., to face the #4 ranked Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears (16-4, 10-1 NSIC), and dropped the match 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-14, 25-18).
The Mavericks kept pace with the Golden Bears as neither team found separation prior to a Concordia-St. Paul kill giving them an 18-16 edge. The Golden Bears ultimately maintained their lead and took the first set 25-21.
The second set continued to be tightly contested with no team able to gain a definitive advantage until an attack error gave Concordia-St. Paul a 20-17 advantage. Out of a timeout the Mavericks stormed back and went on an 8-3 run to take the second set and tie the match at one.
 The Golden Bears surged ahead in the third set and gained an early 15-5 edge. They rode that margin and took the second set 25-14, taking a 2-1 lead.
The fourth set began evenly once again with the match tied at 13 before Concordia-St. Paul went on a 7-0 run. Despite a comeback from the Mavericks, the Golden Bears held on and took the set 25-18, and the match, 3-1.
Alivia Garbe led the Minnesota State attack with 17 kills in the match and added seven digs.Â
Micayla Porter compiled 25 assists to lead the Mavericks and

th, the Mavericks travel to Crookston, Minn., to take on the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m., before traveling to Bemidji, Minn., Saturday at 2:00 p.m. to face the Bemidji State Beavers.Â
