The scoring started in the ninth minute when senior Julia Zach took matters into her own hands and scored her fifth goal of the season to put MSU up 1-0. Six minutes later, senior Morgan Cottew put away her fourth goal of the season to extend the lead to 2-0. Junior Dakota Wendell and Zach both picked up an assist on the goal. In the 20th minute, freshman Kelly Friedrich notched her first goal as a Maverick to put MSU up 3-0 with Cottew picking up the assist. Minnesota State picked up right where it left off three minutes into the second half as junior Alesha Duccini scored her second goal of the season off of a corner kick as Cottew tallied her second assist of the game. On another corner kick, senior Maddy Burandt scored her second goal of the season in the 53rd minute with Cottew netting her third assist of the match. The final goal the Mavericks scored came in the 80th minute when freshman Cassidy Joyce scored her first goal as a Maverick.
