MINNETONKA, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team saw its season come to an end Sunday morning as the Mavericks fell to Augustana 5-0 in the second round of the NSIC Tournament.
MSU finished its season with a 10-11 overall record, while Augustana improved to 15-5.
Augustana began the day winning all three of the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. Senior
Kelly Lechowski and freshman
Monika Ryan fell in the No. 2 doubles match to Meredith Lawrence and Taylor Jackson by the score of 8-2.
The Vikings then won the first two singles matches to secure the 5-0 win. Kornel Staniszewska defeated
Erin Streeter 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 1 singles match, while Rebecca Falkner bested junior
Lisa Dobbelaere 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 6 singles match.
