ST. PETER, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team wrapped up its home schedule with a win Sunday morning as the Mavericks defeated Minnesota Duluth 7-2.
With the win, MSU improves to 7-10 on the season, including a 5-4 NSIC record. With the loss, UMD falls to 8-10, including a 5-4 conference record.
Minnesota State began the day winning all three of the doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead. The team of sophomore

Melissa Mashburn defeated Shelby Benkofske and Kelsey Zetah 9-6 (8-6) in the No. 1 doubles match, while senior
Kelly Lechowski and freshman
Monika Ryan topped Drew DeCorsey and Megan Anderson 8-6 in the No. 2 doubles match. Junior
Killian Doran and freshman
Kelly Spielman added an 8-2 win over Katie Baasch and Elsa Erickson in the third doubles match as well.
The Mavericks finished the dual winning four of the six singles matches to lock down the 7-2 win. Lechowski and Mashburn both won their matches in straight sets, with Lechowski defeating DeCorsey (6-1, 6-2) in the No. 2 singles match and Mashburn besting Anderson (6-4, 6-3) in the No. 3 singles match. Streeter earned a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4) win over Benkofske in the No. 1 singles match, while junior
Lisa Dobbelaere defeated Baasch 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 in the No. 6 singles match.
Minnesota State continues its season on Saturday as it take on Bemidji in Crookston, Minn. The dual is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
