Auburndale, Fla. --- Senior pitcher
Mitchell Bauer tossed eight innings and the Minnesota State offense scored four unanswered runs to complete a 4-3 comeback win over Lewis on Monday morning.
After being held off the scoreboard in the first four innings against Lewis (0-7), the No. 20-ranked Mavericks (4-2) scored two runs in both the fifth and seventh innings to turn a 3-0 deficit into a 4-3 lead.
In the fifth, Minnesota State tallied its first run of the game on an RBI groundout by junior centerfielder
Josh Wenzel. Freshman second baseman
Tommy McDonald scored the Mavericks' second run of the game on a wild pitch. In the seventh inning, senior designated hitter
Hunter Walsh walked with the bases loaded to force in the game-tying run. The game-winning run came on a wild pitch that allowed senior third baseman

Bauer (2-0) surrendered three runs – two earned – in the first four innings, but he did not allow another run to score in his eight innings of work as he earned the win. Bauer scattered five hits, while striking out six and walking two.
Senior pitcher

Peterson's run scored is the 169th of his Maverick career, which ties him for third place in program history with Danny Miller (2008-11).
