The Mavericks and the Buckeyes tied 1-1 on Friday night with Minnesota State winning the shootout 4-3 in 10 rounds — its first shootout win since Oct. 19, 2012 against Minnesota Duluth. The Mavericks lost the series finale 4-2 on Saturday afternoon.

2,000 Career Saves: Senior
Brianna Quade became the fifth goaltender in Maverick history to record 2,000 career saves at No. 1 Wisconsin on Jan. 28. Quade, who now has 2,141 career saves in 74 games played, joined Danielle Butters (2,632), Alli Altmann (2,750), Britni Kehler (3,156) and current Minnesota State women's hockey assistant coach Shari Dickerman (Vogt) (3,590) — the all-time Maverick save leader — as the only Maverick netminders to eclipse 2,000 career saves. Quade has eclipsed the 30-save plateau 11 times this season and has stopped at least 40 shots twice.
Scouting Bemidji State: The Beavers (10-17-3, 6-17-3-1 WCHA) are 1-3-1 in their last five contests, including a series split at St. Cloud State last weekend. Bemidji State lost 5-1 on Friday before rebounding for a 3-1 win on Saturday.
Bemidji State is led on offense by sophomore forward Emily Bergland (13-8--21) — the team leader in goals and points.
In net, senior goaltender Brittni Mowat (9-16-3) has recorded a 2.46 goals against average, a .920 save percentage and two shutouts.
Last Time Around: The Mavericks are 1-1-0 this season against the Beavers. Minnesota State lost 2-0 on Dec. 2, before bouncing back for a 3-2 win on Dec. 3 at Verizon Wireless Center.
