ST. PETER, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team returned to St. Peter Saturday morning, but it was Gustavus Adolphus that was able to come away with the 8-1 win.
With the loss, the Mavericks fall to 6-7 on the season, while the Gusties climb to 10-4.
MSU's lone point on the day came in the No. 2 doubles match as senior
Sarah McCann and sophomore
Killian Doran defeated Sid Dirks and Lilly Hartman 9-8 (4-0).
After taking two of the three doubles matches, the Gusties won all six of the singles matches in straight sets to secure their 8-1 win. Junior
Melissa Mashburn fell 6-3, 7-5 in the No. 1 singles match to Michaela Schultz, while freshman
Erin Streeter lost to Lizzy Stanczyk 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 2 singles match.
The Mavericks return to action on Saturday, April 2, as they take on the St. Cloud State Huskies in Duluth, Minn. The dual is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
