Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State outshot visiting Ohio State by a 34-26 margin, but fell to the Buckeyes 2-1 in a women's Western Collegiate Hockey Association game played in Mankato on Friday afternoon.
Ohio State got the game's first two goals, including one late in the opening period.

Early in the second period, Buckeye winger
Rebecca Freiburger intercepted a Maverick pass near the blue line and scored on a breakaway to give Ohio Stat a 2-0 lead at 6:36. Minnesota State closed the gap at the 14:04 mark after junior winger
Lindsey Coleman took a shot from the left side circle and sophomore center
Jordan McLaughlin pounced on the rebound in scoring her second goal of the season.
The two teams battled through a scoreless third frame with the Buckeyes holding on for the 2-1 victory.
Bidulka made 24 saves on the day in seeing her record on the year fall to 1-4-0.
Kassidy Sauve made 34 stops for the Buckeyes in improving her record to 7-7-1 on the year.
Ohio State improves to 7-7-1 overall and 3-7-1-0 in WCHA games. The Mavericks drop to 2-10-1 overall and stand 0-10-1-0 in league play. The two teams close out the two-game league series Saturday with a 2:07 face-off scheduled at Verizon Wireless Center in downtown Mankato.
