Duluth, Minn. --- Minnesota State women's hockey lost 5-1 to Minnesota Duluth in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game on Saturday at Amsoil Arena. 
Sophomore 
Jordan McLaughlin scored her first goal of the season -- the sixth of her career -- for the Mavericks (2-2-0, 0-2-0 WCHA), but the Bulldogs (3-0-1, 2-0-0 WCHA) scored five times, including a hat trick by Lara Stalder.
McLaughlin's goal came at 15:52 in the third period. Freshman 
McKenzie Sederberg and senior goalie 
Brianna Quade both earned their first-career assist on the play.
Quade (1-2-0) made 35 saves in goal for the Mavericks.
Stalder scored twice in the first period (6:53, 9:44) and once in the third (19:49) to garner the hat trick for Minnesota Duluth. Katherine McGovern and Catherine Daoust also added  Bulldog goals at 12:37 of the second period and 3:28 of the third period, respectively.
Maddie Rooney (3-0-1) made 24 saves in goal for Minnesota Duluth.
The Mavericks were outshot by the Bulldogs 40-25. 
Neither team converted on the power play -- finishing a combined 0-for-5 on the man advantage.  
Minnesota State returns to the ice to start a two-game set with WCHA opponent North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D., on Friday night.
