MINNETONKA, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team saw its season come to an end Sunday morning as it fell to Augustana 5-0 in the second round of the NSIC Tournament.
With the loss, MSU wraps up its season with an 8-10 overall record. With the win, Augustana improves to 20-3.
Augustana won all three of the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. Freshman
Destiny Lee and sophomore
Melissa Mashburn lost 8-3 to Berkley Darr and Heather Sullivan in the No. 2 doubles match. Freshmen
Andrea Erdman and
Lisa Dobbelaere lost to Jenna Helleberg and Meredith Lawrence by the score of 8-3 in the third doubles match as well.
The Vikings would then win the next two singles matches to claim the 5-0 win. Sydney Postal defeated Mashburn 7-5, 6-0 in the No. 2 singles match, while Lawrence defeated Erdman 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 6 singles match.
