ST. PETER, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team fell to the Augustana Vikings 8-1 Saturday.
With the loss, MSU drops to 1-1 overall and in NSIC play. With the win, Augustana improves to 4-1, including a 1-0 mark in league play.
MSU lone point on the day came in the No. 2 doubles match. The team of freshman
Destiny Lee and sophomore
Melissa Mashburn defeated Christine Olivo and Heather Sullivan 9-7.
MSU was swept in the singles matches as the Vikings secured the 8-1 win.
Mashburn fell in three sets in the No. 2 singles match 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, while Lee lost the fourth singles match 6-1, 4-6, 6-3.
The Mavericks continue play on Sunday as they host the Sioux Falls Cougars. The dual is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m.
