MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team wrapped up the fall portion of its 2015-16 schedule Saturday as it fell to the Emporia State Hornets 8-1.
With the loss, MSU now owns a 1-1 overall record, while Emporia State improves to 4-0.
ESU swept the three doubles matches to begin the day. Sophomores
Killian Doran and
Lisa Dobbelaere fell to Lori Ahuja and Amy Fugit 8-6 in the No. 3 doubles match.
Emporia State then went on to win five of the six singles matches to secure the 8-1 win. Freshman
Erin Streeter won the lone single match for the Mavericks as she bested Camilia Ramos 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 2 singles match. Doran forced a deciding third set against Kaley Clark in the No. 4 singles match but she fell by the scores of 6-4, 6-7, 10-5.
The Mavericks will return to action with NSIC competition in February.
