MANKATO, Minn. --- Minnesota State and Minnesota Duluth were back at it again Saturday night at All Seasons Arena in Mankato and the Bulldogs once again came out on top by a score of 4-0.
Minnesota State's record falls to 2-21-1 overall and 0-16-1 in Western Collegiate Hockey Association play while Minnesota Duluth improves to 17-6-3 and 11-6-2 in the WCHA.
After a scoreless first period, the Bulldogs were able to score shorthanded just seven seconds into the second period. UMD later struck at 19:25 to open up a two goal lead and then again 29 seconds later to take a 3-0 lead after two periods.
The Bulldogs tallied one more goal and UMD netminder Kayla Black recorded 25 saves to get the win while MSU netminder
Erin Krichiver stopped 33 shots on the afternoon.
The Mavericks tallied 25 shots on the evening compared to 37 for the Bulldogs while UMD went 1-4 on the power play while MSU was 0-4.
Minnesota State will battle Wisconsin next weekend at All Seasons Arena in Mankato on Friday and Saturday. On Friday the Mavericks and Badgers will battle at 7:07 p.m. while Saturday's face off will be at 3:07 p.m.
