MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's hockey was shut out by No. 6/7 Minnesota Duluth 12-0, Friday night at All Season's Arena in Mankato.
Minnesota State's record falls to 2-20-1 overall and 0-16-1 in Western Collegiate Hockey Association play while Minnesota Duluth improves to 16-6-3 and 11-6-2 in the WCHA.
Minnesota Duluth was led by Brigette Lacquette who recorded a hat trick and added an assist. Lara Stalder also recorded four points for the Bulldogs tallying two goals and two helpers.
The Bulldogs recorded their first goal at 9:53 of the first period as Michela Cava was able to beat MSU netminder senior
Erin Krichiver. UMD added another goal at 18:20 to go up 2-0 into the first intermission.
In the second and third period's the Bulldogs scored five goals each as netminder's Kayla Black and Karissa Grapp recorded nine saves to record the shutout.
Krichiver recorded 28 saves while sophomore
Brianna Quade checked into the game in the third period and tallied 16 saves.
The Mavericks were outshot by the Bulldogs 56-9 in the loss and went 0-2 on the power play while UMD was 5-10 with the extra skater.
Minnesota State and Minnesota Duluth will be back in action tomorrow at All Season's Arena. The puck is set to drop at 3:07 p.m.
