DES MOINES, IOWA --- The Minnesota State men's track and field team finished up its weekend at the Drake Relays on Saturday. The Mavericks also had some student-athletes compute at the Drake Alternative hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College.
The 4x100-meter relay team of freshman
Myles Hunter, freshman
Benjamin Ojika, junior
Justin McMurtry, and senior
Slater Powell competed in the 4x100-meter relay finals and finished in sixth place with a time of 41.30 which ranks first in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
The 4x110-meter shuttle hurdle relay team qualified for the finals and finished with a time of 58.15 which was the third fastest time. Senior
Chris Reed finished fourth in the shot put with a toss of 200' 2".
At the Drake Alternative sophomore
London Thurman had a leap of 45' 10 ½" which was good enough for first place. Senior
Randy Khieu finished in fourth place in the long jump leaping 22' 1". In the 800-meter run junior
Alexander Schoneberger finished in third place for the Purple and Gold with a time of 1:56.26.

MSU will take part in the NSIC Multi which takes place Sunday and Monday in Aberdeen, S.D.
