The Mavericks added two additional runs as sophomore Emily Bransky and Klein each scored runs giving MSU a 10-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth inning.

Freshman pitcher Samantha Buhmann took the circle for the final half inning and retired the side, earning MSU its 21st win of the season with a 10-0 game one victory.

In game two of the twinbill, sophomore Karli DesLauries posted the first run of the game with the RBI credited to Holien in the top of the first inning before freshman Ashley Thell added a run in the third inning by way of an RBI-single from sophomore Chelsea Riordan, who later scored an unearned run pushing the MSU lead to 3-0 after the top half of the third inning.

Junior pitcher Brittany Lauterbach went all seven innings of game two of the twinbill against the Golden Eagles, registering eight strikeouts and allowing only two hits as she earned the 5-0 win over UMC. With the win, she improved her record to 10-4 on the season.
