MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team resumed conference play Saturday as it fell to the Upper Iowa Peacocks 6-3.
With the loss, MSU falls to 3-14 on the season, including a 2-5 NSIC record.
MSU began the dual winning one of the three doubles matches. Freshmen
Abby Schmidt and
Danni Barr won the No. 3 doubles match by default. The team of junior
Shealyn Bakke and sophomore
Sarah McCann lost the No. 1 doubles match 8-4.
The Mavericks finished the dual winning two of the six singles matches. Schmidt won the fifth singles match over Laura Alvarez 6-3, 6-0, while Barr won the No. 6 singles match by default. Sophomore
Alexis Haakedahl fell in three sets to Kelly Jachymowski in the No. 3 singles match 4-6, 6-0, 10-4.
MSU continues conference play on the road Thursday as it takes on Sioux Falls, at 5 p.m.
