St. Paul, Minn. – The Minnesota State women's basketball team beat Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday afternoon by the score of 64-60.
With the win, the Mavericks record improves to 7-3 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
Right out of the gate, MSU jumped out to a 9-2 lead over CU within the first two minutes of the game. The Mavericks lead would quickly dwindle as the Golden Bears went on a 7-0 to tie the game up at 9-9, with 12:33 left to play in the first half. Throughout the rest of the half, CU would build a lead over the Mavericks, as they had as big of a game of eight points at one point. At halftime, the Golden Bears were leading the Mavericks at 33-28.

Jamie Bresnahan led the Mavericks with 10 points and three rebounds, as senior forward
Lexie Ulfers and senior guard
Aubrey Davis each posted 4 points.
In the second half, the Mavericks would quickly fight back into the game as they were able to tie the game up at 35-35, with 16:10 left in the game. The two teams would trade baskets for the next couple of minutes as the game was still tied at 44-44 with 10:31 left in the game. After that point, the Mavericks would seize control in the rest of the game as they had as big of lead as seven points one point before MSU went on to win the game at 64-60.
Davis in the second half recorded 15 more points to her stat sheet, as Ulfers added nine points six rebounds and three blocks.
Overall, in a game that saw six lead changes and five ties, Davis led the way finishing with a game-high 19 points, seven rebounds and four rebounds. Ulfers and Bresnahan each finished with 13 points, also posted eight and seven rebounds, respectively.
The next time the Mavericks play will be after the new year, as they will play host to St. Cloud State on Friday, Jan. 2nd. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Taylor Center.
