MADISON, Wis. --- The Minnesota State women's hockey team finished up this week's play against the University of Wisconsin Friday afternoon at Labahn Arena in Madision, Wis. The Badgers scored six goals in the second period to bring in its second win of the weekend winning by a final score of 8-0.
The Mavericks fall to 0-11-1 overall  with the loss and own a 0-9-1 legder in the WCHA while No. 3 Wisconsin improves to 11-2-1 and 9-2-1 in league play.
In the first period the Badgers struck at 7:28 to take an early 1-0 lead. That would be the only scoring in the opening frame with Wisconsin holding a slight edge in shots 11-7.
UW had a huge second period scoring six times led by Sydney McKibbon who scored two goals. In total seven different players scored a goal for the Badgers in the game as they defeat MSU  8-0.
Sophomore 
Brianna Quade made 36 saves on the afternoon for Minnesota State and her record drops to 0-4-0 on the year. Freshman 
Nicole Schammel led MSU with four shots.
The Mavericks went 0-3 on the power-play while the Badgers scored twice out of six attempts with the extra skaters. UW outshot MSU 44-18.
Minnesota State will be back in action next weekend with a home-and-home series scheduled with the University of Minnesota. The Mavericks will be at home next Friday night at 7:07 p.m. before traveling to Minneapolis to battle the Golden Gophers at 4:07 p.m.
